Interdisciplinary artist, educator, researcher, and PhD Candidate at the Northern Institute, Charles Darwin University. My current interests include straddling apprenticeships in academia, arts writing/curatorship, and my own consultancy business.
My PhD explores embodied responses to social issues and innovation. I draw on interdisciplinary thinking and methods in order to make sense of complex issues.
Complex issues informed my daily practice as a classroom teacher. I teach art with high school students to explore identities and meaning. Students are engaged in art as research, and as a form of resistance.
As an early career researcher, I have contributed to arts-based participatory projects inquiring into resilience. Specialist interests include pursuing different ways of co-constructed knowing, making and curating.
Past roles requiring strong conceptual, creative and communication skills, enabled collaboration with diverse people groups, cultures and organisations. 10+ years communication, marketing, events and PR experience across Financial Services, Telecommunications, Government, and Retail sectors, plus Not-for-profit organisations.
